March 2nd, 2011

I was named the 2011 BMI Film Scoring Scholarship recipient at the annual BMI Day at Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA). I received the scholarship at a presentation at Berklee by BMI composer Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Captain America…) in whose name the 2011's scholarship was given; Doreen Ringer-Ross, BMI Vice President, Film/TV Relations; and Berklee Film Scoring Department Chair Dan Carlin also co-presented the award.

The BMI Film Scoring Scholarship is a yearly tuition scholarship awarded on the basis of compositional maturity and talent. This prize is given every year to a “senior student demonstrating the greatest potential for success in composing music for the visual media”.

I am deeply grateful and honored for this award. Thanks so much to BMI and the Berklee Film scoring Department, this recognition affirms and strengthens my dedication as a composer for the visual media.
